Subject: Page Background transparency

Hello. I've just made a new layout and I want the 'Page Background' as it's called on the modify page, to be transparent. The bit where the main body of the entries is. I tried writing none and transparent but it wouldn't work. What am I doing wrong?

this is my first time posting in here. i want to know how you can make your journal entry in separate text boxes, and how can you make them transparent. i don't want tables. i've looked through most entries posted here and i'm afraid i don't understand. sorry. i hope someone out there can help. =\
